Taupe Tribal Aztec Scarf
These unique stylish scarfs will not only make great accessories but wonderful gifts. A traditional Rajasthani pattern that seems so fresh today. We call it the Aztec because it is reminiscent of a southwestern pattern. This scarf is Hand Block Printed on a cotton/silk blend using Natural Dyes. The fabric has a satin weave, feels just like satin, and falls graciously against any silhouette. The pattern is printed with a mud resist and then hand dyed in a combination of natural dyes and elements bringing history to life.
About Block Printing Process:
Block Printing is an ancient printing technique especially with the use of vegetable dyes. After the wooden block is carved with the pattern, the fabric is then prepared with multiple washes to make the fiber ready to take the dye. With the process of multiple printings and washing before the final product is placed in a dye bath of flowers and barks, the fabric goes through the hands of the block printer and dyer with utmost care. That same care is passed onto the consumer who wishes to take part in this process of honoring the craft and the earth that gives us so much.
